Silver Spring Diner – Mechanicsburg

On Tuesday April 20th we had breakfast at the Silver Spring Diner, located at 6250 Carlisle Pike, near the local Wal-Mart. This diner is like the Taj Mahal of diners in our area. It’s fairly new, modern, very large and has that classic diner look. It seemed very large and roomy inside, nice lighting, lots of seating, no crowded conditions here. Our waitress took care of us right away and we ordered our usual, 2 eggs, home fries and sausage. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes and it looked very good. Perfect eggs, large, plump sausage links and great looking home fries. The home fries looked great but turned out to be just so so tasting, but the rest was very good. We were filled up and satisfied with the meal. If we had to complain about anything it would be the prices. Our usual eggs/sausage combo was priced at $6.50, we have had the same thing at several other places for $4.50 to $5.50. Also, the coffee was $1.50 and they charged us $2.00 for a coke. In the end our meal cost us $17.01 plus a tip, a little on the steep side.
